Your child should be taking time to read every day. It is part of the daily homework assignment Monday through Thursday (and hopefully Friday, Saturday and Sunday). Monday through Thursday, students are required to respond to their daily homework reading assignments on a Reading Log. Here they should not only tell me about what they are reading, but also take the opportunity to share their thinking. In class, we talk about the fact that "Reading is Thinking". This means they can tell me their reactions to what is happening in the story or what they think may happen next and why. There are many, many possibilities as to where their thought may lead them as they read. This is an opportunity to share their thinking with me, and perhaps with you. You may even want to discuss the various texts your child reading with your child. Enjoy the adventure...it could be fun!

Good Effort + Good Work = Fabulous Academic Progress!

More to come...stay tuned!
